PANG UMBAT COIN, the Wednesday Buddha of generosity and compassion. 🌿

This PANG UMBAT COIN Dangle belongs to the BUDDHA Series 🌿 of the SPIRITUAL Collection by MAMA MALA. ✨

As the lucky Buddha of Wednesday morning, this motif shows Buddha standing with an alms bowl held in front of the body. His posture appears calm, open and composed. In the round coin relief, Buddha stands among fine leaves and organic lines that softly frame the motif and give it a quiet, receptive atmosphere. The smooth back rests comfortably against the skin, making the coin a spiritual companion for both bracelet and necklace.

Pang Umbat (ปางอุ้มบาตร) can be understood as receiving alms. In Thai tradition, this posture is associated with Wednesday during the day. It recalls the moment when Buddha returned to his hometown after years of wandering and teaching, walking through the streets with his bowl like other monks. His father first saw this as begging, but Buddha explained that it was not about need, but about an ancient practice of giving. By receiving the offering, the monk gives people the opportunity to consciously do good. This posture became a symbol of generosity, humility, compassion and the connection between giving and receiving.

In Thai tradition, Wednesday holds a special place, as two Buddha postures are assigned to this day. The PANG UMBAT COIN represents Wednesday during the day and the gesture of receiving alms. The second Wednesday Buddha, PANG PA LE LAI, is assigned to the evening and carries its own, quieter symbolism. Together, both show that one day can have different sides: outer connection and inner retreat, giving and receiving, movement and stillness.

As the Wednesday daytime Buddha, this coin is said to bring special luck to those born on a Wednesday before the evening. At the same time, it can be worn by anyone who feels connected to the energy of this day and wishes to invite generosity, compassion and quiet openness into everyday life.

The PANG UMBAT COIN reminds us that giving and receiving are not opposites. Both can become a quiet moment of connection, gratitude and inner abundance.
